Jacob Browne Named Director of Admission at Eckerd College
John Sullivan, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Eckerd College in Florida recently announced the appointment of Jacob Browne as Director of Admission, beginning in late May 2014. Browne has most recently served as Director of Admissions at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY, a post he has held since 2010. He rose through the ranks of the admissions office, progressing from Assistant Director to Associate Director to Director of Recruitment. Additionally, Browne served as Director of Alumni Relations at Wagner in 2008.
In addition to staff supervision and oversight of the day to day operation of the Admissions Office at Wagner, Browne coordinated the production and distribution of all print and web-based recruitment communications,, trained and supervised student volunteers, and recruited students from the western United States. Browne has also been active in state, regional and national professional organizations.
Browne received his bachelor of arts cum laude in history, with a minor in French from Wagner College, as well as a master’s degree in business administration from Wagner.
